Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Winnebago County Jail’s visitation policy requires inmates to submit the list of the people who will visit them in the future. This list may include up to eight people. The jail authority needs this information to schedule every visitation. Each inmate is allowed to have a maximum of three visitors per visits. The inmates are responsible for scheduling the time and day of the week when they want to meet with the prospective visitors. Additionally, inmates have to notify their visitors to make sure the visitation session is taking place accordingly.

For inmate mail, you should include the name of the sender along with the following mailing address:

Name of the Inmate

Winnebago County Jail

All incoming mail must come via the U.S. Postal Service. The jail authority reserves the right to check all incoming and outgoing mail for contraband.

You can deposit money into an inmate’s commissary account if you send postal money orders or certified checks. You have to use the above mailing address for postal money orders. You can even drop off money at the lobby window at any time.

A sex crime refers to forced sexual conduct from one person against another. You can locate any sex offender by going through the following link:

Approx 1,250 CenturyLink landline customers in Winnebago County in the Ripon area are without 911 service. Techs are the way to work on the problem, but unknown how long before they are back up.  Cell Phones are not affected and CenturyLink customers can use cells to dial 911.
