Service and Responsibilities:

The Clerk of Circuit Court’s office is organized by the Wisconsin State Constitution to accomplish statutory responsibilities for various record-keeping purposes of the courts. The Clerk of Court’s is an elected official who holds responsibility for jury management; maintaining the jury system for the circuit courts; Collection disburses of court finances and maintaining records of all monies for fines, forfeitures, bail, trust, and reimbursements; and assisting the Court Administration. Services and Responsibilities:

The County Clerk’s Office for Sauk County holds responsibility in providing various administrative functions and duties administered by the Wisconsin State Statutes i.e. administering licenses and permits for marriage license, dog license, timber cutting permits and large assembly permits, declaration of domestic partnership issuance, public notice of County meetings, rezoning petitions, farmland preservation petitions and county park sticker permits. Besides, the County Clerk is a records keeper for multiple county documents, including board and committee agendas and minutes, maintaining annual departmental reports and County Board resolutions and ordinances. Furthermore, the County Clerk also serves the election administration, coordinating election functions for the county, municipalities and schools. The County Clerk’s Office also serves as a passport agent.
