County History:

Woodstock is the county seat for Shenandoah county. Established in 1761 from a land grant from Lord Fairfax. In 1795, the courthouse, designed by Thomas Jefferson, was built using native limestone. The courthouse, located on Main Street, is the oldest courthouse still in use west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Woodstock is home to the Massanutten Military Academy, the national headquarters of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, and the River Bandits of the Valley League. Two sites are listed on the National Registe of Historic places: Lantz Hall and Shenandoah County Courthouse.

    Each inmate is afforded a separate financial account in which money may be deposited by family or friends. Inmates may use these funds to purchase commissary items or make phone calls. Inmates may release funds from their accounts for various uses to include child support, restitution, and bond.
    There are 4 ways to place money on an Inmate’s Canteen Fund:
    1. Main Lobby Kiosk (fees apply) located at the RSW Regional Jail. The Main Lobby Kiosk is available Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm and also during inmate visitation hours.
    2. Pay online at jailatm.com (fees apply).
    3. By Mail – Money Orders only can be sent to:
