Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates are allowed to receive visits from family and friends at the Grundy County Jail. Please note that all persons and vehicles are subject to search. Each inmate is allowed 1 30-minute visit per week. The visitation schedule is as follows:

Female inmate visitation is every Saturday from 2pm to 2:30pm. Male inmate visitation is every Sunday. Men’s A Cell is available for visitation from 2pm to 2:30pm. Men’s C Cell is available for visitation from 3pm to 3:30pm.

Bail and Bondsman

A person charged with a crime in Grundy County can be released temporarily from jail while waiting for his trial by posting bail. Bail could be merely the defendant’s guarantee that he will be present at all of his court dates. Or, it could involve puttig down money or property to assure the court of his presence. The court confiscates the money or property once the defendant misses one of his court appearances.
