Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

A person is considered a sex offender if he has been convicted of a crime involving sexual conduct such as sexual assault, incest, and prostitution. The law stipulates that a sex offender must give his information to local law enforcement for registration in the state sex offender database and the national sex offender database. If you want to locate sex offenders who reside and/or work in Pennington County, you can search the South Dakota Sex Offender Registry. Just keep in mind that you may see some records that only have last known addresses listed because some offenders do not submit their information.

Bail and Bondsman

A pretrial inmate is given allowed to remain free if bail has been posted. Bail is the money lodged with the court and used as collateral to ensure the inmate’s appearance at his trial once it starts. Missing a court date means losing the money and getting a warrant issued for the inmate’s arrest.

If a pretrial inmate cannot afford the bail amount set by the court, he can pay a bail bondsman to act as a surety. The fee for a service like this is usually 10% of the bail amount.
