The County Court Administrator’s Office is responsible for all administrative characteristics of the Court’s operation under the supervision of the President Judge. The Office of the Court Administrator is responsible for the supervision of other court appointed offices, including Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation and Domestic Relations, etc. Besides, the Criminal Deputy Administrator is responsible for the criminal division matters and the District Justice system. Furthermore, the Civil Deputy Administers the Civil Division and the Orphans’ Court Deputy Administrator is responsible for all Orphans’ Court matters.

Services and Responsibilities:

The Schuylkill County Clerk of Courts hold responsible for preparing and maintaining the records for the Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas, Clerk signs and affixes the Seal of the Courts to all writs and processes, administers oaths and affirmations, and assumes custody of the
seal and records of the Court. Besides, the Clerk of Court’s Office certifies and distributes orders of the Court, Certifies and prepares bills of costs for the defendants and utilizes the computerized financial management system to disburse fines, costs and restitution.

Service and Responsibilities:

The Office of the Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphan’s Court is an officially elected dual officeholder function to determine whether the document offered for probate should be received as the last will of the decedent. The responsibilities of the Register of Wills Office includes, maintaining the records for all areas of probate, acting as an agent for the collection of State Inheritance Taxes, petition for grant of letters, original will/codicil, death certificates, an estate information sheet, applicable fees and when appropriate, renunciations, oaths of subscribing or non-subscribing witnesses, providing genealogical information etc. Besides, the responsibilities as Clerk of Orphan’s Court include maintaining the docket and files for adoptions, guardianships and other issues which may come before the Orphans’ Court Judge, as well as taking applications for, and issuing, marriage licenses.
