Services and Responsibilities:

The Office of the Court Administrator is responsible for the long and short-term judicial planning, interaction with the other branches of county government, day-to-day operations of the Court as well as the oversight of the various court divisions and district justice offices. The responsibilities include, civil and criminal proceedings, summary jury trials, argument court, summary appeals, motions hearings, settlement conferences, preliminary injunctions, ARD hearings and Domestic Relations matters. Besides, the Court Administrator’s Office also oversees all court-related departments Judiciary such as; Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, Magisterial District Court personnel, the Law Library, the Court Transcription Unit, and court staff personnel.

The Northampton County Prothonotary office is composed of the Civil Division, Sheriff-Civil Service Division and the Protection from Abuse Division. The Recorder of Deeds Office is responsible for recording, protecting, preserving, and reproducing legal documents related to real estate in Northampton County. The records include deeds, mortgages, and various other miscellaneous documents. These recorded documents are microfilmed and available for public inspection.
