Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmate visitation at the Josephine County Jail is conducted through video provided by Turnkey Corrections. Each video visit is 15 minutes long and cost 35 cents per minute. Family and friends are allowed to visit multiple times a day from home. At-home visits are available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for general population inmates. Inmates that are not housed in general population are allowed video visitation privileges as well. Their schedule is based on their housing assignments. These inmates are responsible for informing their visitors by phone when they have access to visiting.

All visitors must submit an online application with a photo of themselves as well as a state-issued photo ID at registration at the Inmate Canteen website. They can sign up at home or make use of the computer in the jail lobby. Visitors must schedule an appointment 24 hours in advance to use the computer.

Video visiting in the Jail lobby is available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Each visit is 15 minutes long and each visitor is allowed two 15-minute visits in a 1/2 hour appointment. Appointments may be scheduled twice a week. Visits done at the jail are free. Inmates may receive letter-sized envelopes and postcards. All incoming mail will be opened and inspected for contraband such as Polaroid-stye pictures or letters/postcards with lipstick, perfume, or any other foreign substance. Oregon is one of just four states that have made the practice of commercial bail bonding illegal.
