Services and Responsibilities:

The Circuit Court is the official record keeper for the courts. The Court Office’s primary duty is to assist the Circuit Court judge in executing their judicial tasks by preparing and maintaining court records, collecting fees and fines, and processing paperwork. Besides, the County Court issues all processes such as citations, notices and summons for service to the sheriff and subpoenas all witnesses in trials of matters.

Services and Responsibilities:

The County Clerk is the principal keeper of records, responsible for records and archives such; deeds, mortgages, contracts, and tax liens. The County Clerk also works as a national passport agency, reviewing and providing passport application services. Additional responsibility includes; issuing marriage licenses, Register Declarations of Domestic Partnerships, Accept and process voter registrations, Conduct local, state, and federal elections, Appraise real property, personal property, and manufactured structures for taxation. Besides, the County Clerk Office also calculates tax rates under measure 5 and measures 50 limitations, applies tax rates to the taxable assessed value, and provides information and process appeals of real market value and assessed value.
