A 20 minute long chase that began at the IT Wal-Mart at approximately 3:40 pm today ended with the suspect in custody in a Charlotte neighborhood near the intersection of Crosswinds and Sunflower Drive. The suspect will be facing numerous charges once he returns to Union County.

Aircraft Search Update

The search for a possible downed aircraft in the W Sandy Ridge/Austin Road area has been discontinued. Deputies, firefighters and a CMPD helicopter have been unable to locate a crash site.

Deputies and firefighters are in the area of W Sandy Ridge and Austin Road area after reports of an ultra light plane possibly down. Thus far, no crash has been located. CMPD helicopter en route to assist in search for possible wreckage.
