The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office now offers Video Visitation at the Mecklenburg County Jail via the internet. Video Visitations will be conducted at the Work Release and Restitution Center (WRRC) located at 901 Elizabeth Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina, or off-site by connecting to the internet. Depending on availability, inmate visits can now be scheduled any day of the week. In-person visits are no longer available.
Please note there is no public parking at WRRC. Please park at the 4th Street Parking Deck (983 East 4th Street in Uptown Charlotte) located at the intersection of 4th and McDowell Streets.

Money orders or cashier checks are accepted by mail and must be made payable to the name given to the inmate when the inmate was placed in jail.
- The inmate’s date of birth and Positive Identification Number (PID number) must be written on the face of the money order/cashier’s check. This information can be obtained from the inmate. If the inmate expects to receive money, it is their responsibility to give this information to his/her family and friends.
- The sender’s name and address must be written on the face of the money order/cashier’s check. Be sure to write the sender’s return address on the envelope. Address the envelope to the inmate’s name, spelled as he/she is incarcerated to:
