Dan River Prison Work Farm is located in Blanch, North Carolina. The facility was designed to hold 640 inmates. This is a minimum-security prison and is located on approximately 187 acres. It first opened in 1996. Inmates may have work assignments within the prison and in the surrounding community. Piedmont Community College operates the Roxboro Satellite Training Center, which offers vocational training to inmates. There are self-improvement programs available for inmates. Inmates receive basic health, dental, and mental health care.

Visitation Policies:
Visitors must be approved before visiting an inmate, and each visitor must complete an application. It is the responsibility of the inmate to notify the visitor of approval beforehand. Visitors age 16 and older must include a copy of a photo ID with the applications. Visitors under age 16 must include a copy of their birth certificate with the application.
Visitors agree to a pat and frisk search and electronic scanning in order to visit an inmate. Visits are limited to one per week, no more than 2 hours at a time. A maximum of 3 visitors are allowed in one visit.
Visitation is based on alphabetical order and is scheduled 3 times a day on Saturday and Sunday. Inmates in segregated housing can have visits Monday – Friday. Those visits must be scheduled in advance.
