A sex offender is defined as a person who has been convicted of a sexually motivated offense such as rape, child pornography, and sex trafficking. Bail and Bondsman

The cash bail system is out in the state of New Jersey. It has implemented a risk assessment tool that will utilize a defendant’s information such as his criminal history to determine if he should stay in custody while awaiting trial or not. This tool makes use of an algorithm to calculate how likely the defendant will commit another crime while out on bail or fail to return for his trial. A high score means he is more than likely to do one or both of those actions so he will have to remain in jail until his day in court. A low score will inform the judge of the low risk that the defendant poses if he is released from jail and recommends that action.
