A person is considered a sex offender if he has been convicted of a crime involving sexual misconduct such as sex trafficking, rape, and prostitution. Locating sex offenders in Nye County can be done by going to the Sheriff’s Alert page. Keep in mind that you may get records that only show last known addresses. This may be due to some offenders who do not comply with the law.

Bail and Bondsman

The money pledged to the court in exchange for the temporary release of a defendant who is awaiting trial from jail is known as bail. The money will be used to make sure that the defendant will show up in court. The money is returned minus fees once the trial is over as long as the defendant kept his word. If he didn’t, the court gets to keep the money.

If a defendant cannot afford the bail set by the court, a bondsman can be hired to pay the bail on his behalf. The fee of a bondsman is usually 10% of the bail. However, it cannot be refunded.
