    Sex Offender Search and Lookup:

A sex offender is defined as an individual who has been found guilty of a sexually oriented crime such as sexual assault, sex trafficking, and prostitution. All sex offenders are mandated by federal law to submit their information to the state sex offender registry and national sex offender database. In Lincoln County, you can locate sex offenders by going to the Sheriff’s Alert page. Because some offenders do not obey the registration law, some of the records you encounter may only show last known addresses.

    Bail and Bondsman

Bail is the money put down as collateral with the court in exchange for the temporary freedom of a defendant awaiting trial. The money will be given back to the defendant at the end of the trial, minus any court fees, if he has fulfilled all of his court obligations. If not, he loses the money.

If the defendant does not have enough to post bail, he can pay a bondsman to secure his release. The cost of such a service is 10% of the bail amount plus court fees. However, unlike bail, the bondsman’s fee cannot be refunded.
