Visitation Policies:

1. All visitors who are 18 years old or older shall be required to show a picture identification each time they visit. The forms of identification accepted by the NDOC: valid driver’s license from the state of residence, valid state photo identification card from the state of residence, valid military photo identification card, and valid passport.
2. No inappropriate contact will be permitted in the visit hall. Only a closed mouth kiss and hug are allowed at the beginning and the end of the visit only.
3. No gum or candy is permitted in the visit hall.
4. Visitors are encouraged to call 24 hours in advance to make sure the inmate is still located at High Desert State Prison and that their visiting days have not changed.
5. Processing begins at 8:00 A.M. and ends at 2:30 P.M. Processing will pause at 10:00 A.M. for the institutional count and resume after count clears.
6. All visitors must sign in, have their hand stamped, and be cleared through the metal detector.
7. All visitors and their vehicles are subject to search.
8. Visitors who have registered for visiting may not return to their car or locker during their visit.
9. Only one visit per day is permitted.
10. Visitors may not talk or pass any item through the fences to inmates.
11. Vehicles must be parked in the designated visitor parking area.
12. Any changes of address must be reported.
13. Facilities are provided in the restroom for changing of diapers, and diapers may only be changed in this area.
14. Visitors who fail to abide by the visiting rules and regulations may be refused admission to the prison, and/or maybe removed from the visiting list by the warden.
