Typical crimes which are considered sex offenses are sex-related behaviors performed against the will of another, such as rape, lewd conduct, distribution of child pornography, molestation, sexual abuse and sexual assault. Failure to register as a sex offender when required is also an offense and will result in that person’s arrest. Persons failing to register are called absconders. The public can access the sex offender registry to complete a lookup for the the status of a particular perpetrator of interest. Information about Randolph County sex offenders is available in the main state offender registry from the Missouri Highway State Patrol or by calling 1-888-SOR-MSHP (767-6747).
