Fall can be a dangerous time on MN roads due to the prevalence of deer on/near highways. From '12-'19, there were 13k+ deer-vehicle crashes in MN which claimed 41 lives & caused 204 serious injuries.

@MoreBailey37 On 10/10 @ 2241 hours, EPPD Officers responded to a crash at CMS. Officers found the driver and determined that the driver was having a mental health issue and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The driver was transported from the scene via ambulance.

Between 2p- 3p on Wed., 10/7, EPPD responded to 2 incidents involving thefts from occupied vehicles. In 1st case, victim was in the driver’s seat & stopped in a parking lot when suspect stole purse. In 2nd case, victim was at a stoplight.

This morning one of EPPD’s earliest officers passed away. Sgt. Jim Matson started with the department on 7/1/74, exactly 1 year after the founding of the department. He was promoted to sergeant in 1983 & retired on 7/1/96.
