Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
Inmates at the Ingham County Jail is encouraged to visit with family and friends. All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Visits are on a first come, first serve basis. To schedule a visitation, you can go online here or use the video visitation kiosk located in the visitation booths at the Jail Lobby or in the Human Services Building. The Jail lobby is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 10pm. The kiosk in the Human Services Building can be accessed Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Each visitor needs to check in 15 minute before the scheduled visit. Visitation is allowed Monday through Friday, 8am to 10am, 12pm to 4pm, and 5:30pm to 10pm.
Visitors must be 17 years old or above. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult. A maximum of 2 visitors is allowed per visit, including children. All visitors are required to present a valid picture identification, their home address, and valid phone number.
Inmates are allowed to receive postcards via mail. Photos and packages will be returned to sender. Postcards must be addressed as follows:
