Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Visitation is allowed after an inmate has been in the Delaware County Jail for a period of 14 days. Up to 2 visitors per inmate will be allowed at once and are allowed on a first come, first served basis. There maybe a limit of 30 minutes per visitor on those days, at the discretion of the jail staff.

All visitors must be pre-approved and have no felonies or any drug-related charges or conviction. Inmates must submit their list of three visitors for approval prior to any visitor being admitted. Their list maybe changed at the first of the month only. All visitors must be at least 18 years of age.

Visitors must present proper identification upon entry to the jail and are subject to search without warning. Any visitors who are disruptive or abusive to jail staff or back in the visiting area will be prohibited from jail visitation. All visitation is conducted through a window, with no inmate contact. All visitor that is attempting to bring contraband into the jail will result permanent ban from jail visitation.

Clergy and Probation Officers will be allowed to visit outside of normal visiting hours as long as there is a Jail Officer available for security and their visit does not interfere with jail normal routine.

Visiting hours for the jail are Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 1:00 pm and 2:45 pm.
