Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Visitation is by appointment only. Appointments may be scheduled up to one week in advance, but no less than 24 hours in advance by calling 712-732-2452. This is by phone only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Upon the initial booking, one family member may visit by video without an advanced appointment providing security and safety issues are not compromised.

Each inmate is permitted one visitation per day with no more than 2 persons 14 years old or older. All visitors 14 or older must be included on the inmate’s visitation approval list.

A parent or an adult legal guardian must accompany visitors under the age of 18. Or show proof of being an adjudicated adult.

The parent or legal guardian of a minor child must maintain close supervision of that child before, during and after each visit. Children must never be left unattended for any reason.

All visitors must properly identify themselves upon arriving at the visitation center. (All visitors over 18 must have a government issued photo ID indicating their date of birth.)

All visits are monitored and recorded.

Visitors arriving after the start of their scheduled session will not be allowed to visit.

Proper attire is required at all times. Shoes and shirts must be worn; suggestive clothing, see-through fabrics, halter or tube type tops, short shorts and mini­skirts will not be permitted. Appropriate underclothing is required.

Visitors appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be admitted into the center.

Wallet and car keys only may be taken into the Visitation Center. No other personal effects such as weapons or sharp objects, purses, satchels, diaper bags, smoking materials, chewing gum, phones, radios, TV’s, cameras etc., are allowed.

Visitors with small children will be permitted to retain one baby bottle, one diaper, and one blanket per child. The supervisor on a case-by-case basis will approve additional items.

Smoking, eating and drinking are prohibited inside the Visitation Center.

If a visitor leaves the Visitation Room, they will not be allowed to re-visit without another appointment

Hanging up the handset on the visitor’s visitation carrel will terminate the visit.

Loud talking, excessive emotionalism, or any other type of disruptive behavior will not be permitted in the Visitation Center.

If you experience a problem with the audio or video reception during your visit, notify the jail staff immediately. Do not attempt to adjust the picture or sound yourself.

No one may deliver any item to an inmate without prior approval and/or inspection by the Jail Staff.

Visitation will be limited in duration and may be terminated at anytime.

If an inmate that you are scheduled to visit is not available due to court proceedings, disciplinary actions, attorney visits, etc., your visitation will be rescheduled. Visitation may be canceled without notice due to jail issues or security issues.

Persons released from jail or prison within 30 days or persons having a criminal history will not be allowed to visit without prior approval of the jail administrator. Visitors are required to disclose this information prior to scheduling a visitation.

Visitation is held over video conferencing by appointment only from 8:00AM – 11:30AM and 2:00PM – 4:00PM except holidays, weekends and when posted otherwise.
