LaSalle County is in the North Central region of Illinois. The population as of 2014 was 111,214 and the county seat and largest city is Ottawa. LaSalle County is in the Chicago media market, but it is unique with a mix of pleasant river towns and expanses of farmland. The county lies at the intersection of the Chicago, Peoria, Quad Cities and Rockford television market. The county is about 60 miles from Chicago.
The county has a total area of 1,148 square miles and 13 square miles are water. It is the second largest county in Illinois by land area.

All visits are done through video and available Saturday through Wednesday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Visits are limited to 30 minutes. In facility visits must be scheduled the day before and a valid government issued ID is required. You can schedule visits online at www.jailatm.com by clicking video call. Visits may also be done from home from a computer with a webcam for $0.33/minute. Home visits do not have to be scheduled ahead of time. You can have two facility visits per week and there is no limit on visits from home.

There are no deputy or county jail openings in the Sheriff’s Department. There is an opening for a 911 telecommunicator.
Sheriff’s patrol officers receive a salary of $70,010. You must have a high school diploma, GED or college education with a minimum of 60 credit hours. You must possess a qualification for a Illinois State Firearm’s card. You will need to pass an Illinois state law enforcement test, undergo a background check, and not have any felonies.
