Keep in mind that the government cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information in the databases. This is because some sex offenders do not obey the registration law.
Bail and Bondsman
The court requires bail, a certain amount of money, to be lodged with them before they grant temporary release to a defendant. This money is used to ensure that the defendant complies with all of the court’s requests while he is out of jail. If the defendant violates the conditions of his release, the bail is forfeited.
A defendant who cannot pay the bail can still get released from jail with the help of a bondsman. The bondsman charges 12% of the bail as his non-refundable fee. Once hired, the bondsman can sign a bond with the court that makes him responsible for paying the entire amount if the defendant jumps bail.
